Ceasar M. Lokines - September 2006

Baguio City, north of the Philippines and considered the "Summer Capital of the Philippines" has produced a few of our best athletes in the country. Ceasar M. Lokines is the latest to evolve among the new breed of athletes from the North.
The youngest of 5 siblings, Ceasar was born September 8, twenty-eight years ago.He started working out in the gym at the age of 21. "I was very skinny before I hit the weights. I had a hard time finding a job. I thought gaining and developing muscles would somehow give me a different outlook in life," said Ceasar. He was not disappointed.
Today Ceasar competes at 160 lbs. The heaviest he's weighed during off season is 170 lbs. At 5' 6" tall, Ceasar has competed in several competitions mostly in Baguio City and has grabbed a few significant titles to his name. He never had a mentor. All the motivation, drive and determination he has, comes from within. A self-starter, a self-motivator and a selfless athlete all in one. He tries to help new and struggling athletes attain their goal when training in the gym. Ceasar is friendly, approachable and always giving advice whether you're a pro or novice.
Shoulders and Abs are his best body parts. He believes genetics play a big part in the development of his physique. "Though training also helps, at the end when all you're resources have been exhausted, your genes still come out the victor," says Ceasar. He also believes that dieting is 50% of the package in order to achieve your goal in muscle development. The other 50% is of course, good old hardcore training.
Ceasar starts serious training for a competition 3 months before the actual event. He does not have a rigid schedule when it comes to training. He gives himself flexibility so he could enjoy his workout. Lets face it. When bodybuilding competition becomes a way of life, you try to savor and enjoy every minute of it. Otherwise, you get bored with it. Ceasar works out in the morning or sometimes in the afternoon or sometimes in the evening depending on his mood. He still plays basketball every now and then whenever he gets a chance.
Ceasar's goal is to grab the title of Mr. Philippines in the near future and become the country's foremost representative internationally. Maybe given the right timing, he will pursue a career abroad and work as a fitness professional. Whatever comes his way, Ceasar is ready for anything. His hard work and success comes from the family's farming business in Baguio-Benguet highlands. This time he is ready to venture on his own.
