The son of the late great legendary bodybuilder from Baguio City, Nick Domalsin, Sr., he's proven that legends are not only made, they are born.
Reynold had no idea that someday he would be following in his father's footsteps. Born and raised in Baguio City, he grew up watching his father mentor some of the great athletes from Baguio City like Alfie Cornel and Jas Taguilig. His father started the Baguio Health Club gym, the first gym to exist in Baguio City. He was too young then to get into bodybuilding. He played basketball, trained in gymnastics, karate and martial arts. His father died in 1990 when he was only 12 years old. He only got into serious weight training in 1999 after graduating from college. In college, he also played intramural basketball.
After college, Reynold worked as a computer programmer at the Baguio Long Live Co. He also worked as a clerk at the Department of Social Welfare Division (DSWD) Baguio. Currently, he's working as a computer sales and marketing manager for a small computer internet café since November, 2004.
Reynold currently trains at the Baguio Fitness Horizon Gym, owned and operated by Alfie Cornel. Having flexible hours at work, he finds time to train the needed hours in preparing for a contest. He does a split workout - morning and afternoon, 1 body part each day, 4 days in a row, then 1 day rest. He trains heavy 2 weeks before a show. One week before the show he trains with lightweights. He believes his best body part is his back due to genetics. His back is similarly structured like that of Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman. His weak parts are his arms and legs. He tries to concentrate and spend more time on them to catch up with the rest.
Reynold starts his diet program 3 months before a target contest date. His diet program is 60% carbs/ 40% protein 3 months prior. 50% carbs/ 50% protein 2 months prior. Then 40% carbs/ 60% protein 1 month prior. He learned this program from reading magazines, surfing the internet and self-experimentation. His pre-contest training involves more on cardio and fat-burning exercises such as jogging and running in the morning and bicycling in the afternoon rather than carbo and water depletion. He gets more results this way. He trains his abs to get more definition and contour.
He has recently won the Overall title at the Mr.DNK Body Collision last month where the decision was reversed one day after the contest. Winsley Catanes was declared the Overall winner during the contest but because of the controversial judging and an overwhelming audience protest, it was later given to him - a first in the history of Philippine Bodybuilding.
Pinoymuscle is proud to feature Reynold for his hardwork and discipline in attaining his goals at this point in his bodybuilding career. Truly, you may be born with a well-known family name. But greatness also comes with hardwork and discipline
