WORLD CLASS BODYBUILDERS arrive November 28
Bodybuilders of international caliber will form part of a large entourage of great champions arriving in Manila for the 23rd SEAGAMES Philippines 2005.
PFBB president & newly-elected ABBF vice-president Luciano "Sonny" C. Lim, who heads the SEAG Bodybuilding Organizing Committee, will lead the reception.
Bodybuilding is one of 41 sports and 6 of 441 events to be played in this much-awaited regional competition. Some 40 athletes will weigh in on Friday, December 2, at 10:00 am at the Teatro ng GSIS, followed by general rehearsals. On Saturday, December 3, pre-judging begins at 1:00 pm with popularly priced tickets at P100 for all seats. The finals event will start on Sunday, December 4, with 7 nations vying in 6 bodyweight categories. Tickets will be sold at P300 and P500.
Expected to see action are world champions light flyweight Pham Yan Mach and light middleweight Ly Duc, both from Vietnam, and Malaysian bantam weight Sazali bin Abd Samad. Singapore is pitting a formidable team fresh from months of training in Canada.
The Philippine national team will be represented by light flyweight Rex L. Dellava, flyweight Fernando G. Faroden, bantam weight Michael O. Borenaga, lightweight Armando B. Villasoto, welterweight Alfredo G. Trazona, Jr., and light middleweight Jesus L. Duga.
They will join fellow athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam at Grand Boulevard Hotel along Roxas Boulevard and near the famous Bay Walk. While waiting for the December competitions the world class athletes will workout at Super Sharp Fitness Center, MIA Road, Tambo, Paranaque City.
